Lighthouse Point is
a friendly community that was
incorporated in 1956. Lighthouse Point got its name because it
sits under the beam of the Hillsboro Inlet Lighthouse. About eleven
thousand residents live in the city which
is located in the northeastern section of Broward County.
Lighthouse Point is known for quiet, tree-shaded,
canal-laced neighborhoods, with 20 acres of parks, 13 miles of
sidewalks/bike paths and 18 miles of waterways. Single-family homes
account for about 80%
of this small community’s residences.
Lighthouse Point’s leisurely lifestyle appeals to its
residents and they don’t worry about about future expansion because the
city sits in the midst of many other communities and it cannot expand.
